Effects of Vitamin D levels and supplementation on atopic dermatitis: A systematic review
Pediatric Dermatology Oct 09, 2018
Huang CM, et al. - Researchers ascertained if serum vitamin D (VD) levels were associated with the severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) and if VD supplementation could lessen severity in children. Aa association between serum VD levels and AD severity was established by most of the existing literature in children. Improvement of AD with VD supplementation was supported by weak evidence. In 62.5% (10/16) of studies, VD level and severity were seen to be inversely associated in a significant manner. A significant improvement in AD severity with supplementation was reported in 67% (4/6).
