Effects of two types of equal-intensity inspiratory muscle training in stable patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A randomized controlled trial
Respiratory Medicine Oct 10, 2017
Wu W, et al. - This study assessed the impacts of two types of equal-intensity inspiratory muscle training in clinically stable patients with COPD, excluding the confounding factors of inspiratory muscle mobilization. Findings revealed that when performed for 8 weeks, threshold-inspiratory muscle training (R-IMT) was superior to equal-intensity resistive-inspiratory muscle training (T-IMT) in improving health-related quality of life (HRQoL), degree of dyspnoea, and exercise capacity in this patient population.
