Rauen T, et al. - This study assessed the impacts of two immunosuppressive treatment protocols in patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Findings demonstrated that in a minority of patients who had IgAN with relatively well preserved GFR and persistent proteinuria, only corticosteroid monotherapy induced disease remission. Furthermore, it was noted that neither immunosuppressive regimen prevented GFR loss, and both associated with substantial adverse events.
