Effects of short term add-on ezetimibe to statin treatment on expression of adipokines and inflammatory markers in diabetic and dyslipidemic patients
Cardiovascular Therapeutics Sep 26, 2017
Guimaraes ES, et al. - This study assessed changes in expression of adipokines and inflammatory markers among diabetic and non-diabetic patients with hypercholesterolemia who received short-term add-on ezetimibe to simvastatin treatment. Findings demonstrated that suppressing effects of short-term add-on ezetimibe to simvastatin treatment on hypercholesterolemia and adiponectinemia were independent of the diabetes status. Furthermore, add-on ezetimibe to statin treatment also impacted resistin serum levels and leukocyte mRNA expression.
