Effects of presentation style and musical elements on the sequential working memory of individuals with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder

Schwartzberg ET, et al. - The impact of presentation style (live vs recorded) and musical elements (melody vs rhythm) was assessed in relation to the working memory of individuals with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In this work, during the live vs the recorded conditions participants showed significantly more accurate recall. Between the melodic and rhythmic musical elements, no significant recall difference was observed. Thereby suggesting that information paired with music delivered in live presentation could increase the likelihood of recall and subsequent learning.
