Boyer G, et al. - The effect of pregnancy on the mechanical properties of skin was assessed by the experts. They also evaluated the imprint that pregnancy left on the skin following delivery. Compared to the non-pregnant condition, the mechanical properties of skin changed drastically during pregnancy and these properties remained altered 4 months following delivery. Findings suggested that along with the alterations in the abdominal skin during pregnancy, mechanical changes on the thighs were also observed, which were less subject to stretching.
