Chiloiro S, et al. - The effects of somatostatin receptor ligands (SRLs) and pegvisomant (PegV) on the incidence of vertebral fractures (VFs) were examined in patients with acromegaly. They found similar effects of PegV and SRLs on VF risk in acromegaly. The main determinant of VFs was the activity of disease, independent of the drug used to control acromegaly.
