Blytt KM, et al. - In this present study, the effects of pain treatment on sleep were investigated among nursing home (NH) patients with dementia and depression. Pain treatment improved sleep as measured with actigraphy, compared with placebo. This suggested that sleep, pain, and depression in NH patients ought to be critically evaluated. Pain treatment had to be considered as a potentially beneficial treatment.
