Effects of non-health-targeted policies on migrant health: A systematic review and meta-analysis
The Lancet Global Health Mar 20, 2019
Juárez SP, et al. - Evidence on the impact of public policies outside of the health-care system on migrant health was reviewed using a Health in All Policies tactic. For this work, 43,243 potentially eligible records were identified. They synthesized 46 articles narratively and meta-analyzed 19. In these studies, all from high-income countries, policies of entry (nine articles) and integration (37 articles) were examined. Observations suggest poor migrant health outcomes correlate with restrictive entry and integration policies in high-income countries. They suggest adopting a Health in All Policies perspective to enhance the efforts to improve the health of migrants.
