Azuma K, et al. - This paper incorporated an enquiry on the consequences of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling on the postoperative prognosis, in conjunction with the removal of idiopathic epiretinal membranes (ERMs). A substantially lower ERM recurrence rate was disclosed possibly due to additional ILM peeling in vitrectomy for idiopathic ERM. Nonetheless, it did not prominently exert an impact on the postoperative best-corrected visual acuity and central macular thickness.
