Røpke MA, et al. – An analysis was carried out to analyze the effects of glucocorticoids (GCs) on stratum corneum (SC) function and lipid profile of human skin. Following topical GC treatment of human skin, a reduction in specific SC lipid classes was observed. This highlighted the barrier disruption in human skin induced by topical steroids.
