Effects of eslicarbazepine acetate on lipid profile and sodium levels in patients with epilepsy
Seizure - European Journal of Epilepsy Oct 07, 2017
Pulitano P, et al. - The clinicians investigated the effects of eslicarbazepine acetate (ESL) on lipid profile and sodium levels in patients with epilepsy. In patients with epilepsy, add-on therapy with ESL positively influenced lipid metabolism profile over an average follow-up of 11 months, in contrast to the negative effects observed with traditional older carboxamides. To confirm the obtained results with a focus on a comprehensive assessment of the biochemical and molecular mechanisms involved, additional research was required.
