Ye BS, et al. - The effects of striatal dopaminergic depletion and brain atrophy on the neuropsychiatric symptoms of patients with de novo ParkinsonÂs disease (PD) were investigated. The researchers proposed that in patients with PD, accumbens atrophy and frontotemporal cortical thinning independently contributed to neuropsychiatric symptoms, particularly frontal cortical thinning, while dopamine transporter (DAT) uptake did not affect the neuropsychiatric symptoms.
