Kang F, et al. - The purpose of designing this prospective, randomized, single-blind study was to compare dexmedetomidine combined with isoflurane vs isoflurane anesthesia on brain injury after cardiac surgery. With dexmedetomidine use, decreased biochemical markers of brain injury were reported post-surgery but no improvement was observed in the postoperative neuropsychological test result.
