To evaluate the effect of treatments they used recurrence ratio and Eustachian tube scores. In order to recover mucosal function, methylprednisolone irrigation could be helpful. A good choice for COME in adults could be balloon Eustachian tuboplasty (BET) and tympanic paracentesis with methylprednisolone irrigation, which has less recurrence rate and prompt recovery of Eustachian tube scores (ETS) function.
