Effects of bedroom environmental conditions on the severity of obstructive sleep apnea
Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine Apr 22, 2018
Lappharat S, et al. - The links between bedroom environmental conditions, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity, and sleep quality were investigated by authors in 63 participants who were enrolled for an overnight polysomnography. It was noted that 68% of the enrollees experienced poor sleep. A significant correlation was found between the higher concentrations of particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 10 μm and increased OSA severity. Findings illustrated that less exposure to particulate matter and suitable bedroom environments could reduce the severity of OSA and promote better sleep quality.
