Mitja O, et al. - The goal of this paper was to analyze the effectiveness of single-dose azithromycin to treat patients with latent yaws. Oral single-dose azithromycin was discovered to be effective in individuals with latent yaws, on the basis of the decline in serological titre. The yielded data supported the WHO strategy for the eradication of yaws based on the mass administration of the entire endemic community, regardless of the clinical status.
