Effectiveness of fixed-site high-frequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in chronic pain: A large-scale, observational study
Journal of Pain Research Apr 17, 2018
Kong X, et al. - Researchers performed a retrospective observational cohort study to determine the effectiveness of fixed-site high-frequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (FS-TENS) in a real-world chronic pain sample. They examined changes in chronic pain measures following 60 days of FS-TENS use. outcomes suggest that for treating multisite chronic pain, FS-TENS is a practical option. The greatest impact is on pain interference with activity and mood. FS-TENS utilization and effectiveness showed a dose–response association, thereby indicating maximization in pain relief with daily use.
