The Journal of Dermatology Jun 26, 2021
Matsutani M, Imai Y, Inoue Y, et al. - Among patients suffering from atopic dermatitis (AD), this investigation was carried out to test the effectiveness as well as safety of tacrolimus ointment in combination with dupilumab for facial rashes. Participants were patients who newly received dupilumab from April 2018 to July 2020 in the Dermatology Department of Hyogo College of Medicine Hospital. The combination did not result in serious side-effects at high frequency. Both facial dermatitis and systemic dermatitis were rapidly improved, and a significant correlation was observed between the rate of improvement of head/neck Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) score and the rate of improvement of overall EASI score. Overall, findings demonstrated the effectiveness as well as safety of tacrolimus ointment combined with dupilumab in the treatment of facial AD.
