Posso M, et al. - The effectiveness and cost-efficacy of double reading versus the single reading of digital mammograms in screening programmes are determined in this study. In light of these outcomes, the proof of benefit for double reading compared to single reading for digital mammography interpretation is scarce. Double reading appears to increase operational costs, have a not significantly higher false-positive rate, and a similar cancer detection rate.
