Effect of vitamin D on Helicobacter pylori infection and eradication: A meta-analysis

Yang L, et al. - In this meta-analysis of 10 studies, researchers explored the potential connection between vitamin D and Helicobacter pylori infection, as well as vitamin D and H. pylori eradication. Finally, 10 articles have been included. They found that the average 25(OH)D level in H. pylori-positive individuals was lower than H. pylori-negative individuals. Overall, vitamin D was shown to be a protective factor to H. pylori infection. In addition, vitamin D may improve the H. pylori eradication success rate.
