Sleep Medicine Oct 22, 2017
Dauvilliers Y, et al. - An exploratory analysis was pursued of the upshot of three narcolepsy treatment modalities on sleep stage shifts related to disrupted nighttime sleep (DNS). Sodium oxybate (SXB) with and without modafinil caused a substantial consolidation of sleep and improved the patient-reported sleep quality relative to placebo. On the other hand, no effects were reported with modafinil alone. This data indicated a specific influence of SXB on DNS along with its effect on daytime sleepiness.
