Effect of scapular notching on clinical outcomes after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty
The Bone & Joint Journal Nov 04, 2020
Jang YH, et al. - In this study, the clinical effect of scapular notching on outcomes after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) was explored. Researchers carried out to search three electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Database, and EMBASE) for studies which assessed the influence of scapular notching on clinical outcome after RTSA. The meta-analysis included 11 studies (two level III and nine level IV). The outcomes of this research demonstrate that individuals with scapular notching after RTSA have significantly worse outcomes when assessed by the Constant-Murley scores, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score, and range of movement in flexion and abduction.
