Effect of platelet-rich plasma injection for rejuvenation of photoaged facial skin: A randomized clinical trial

JAMA Nov 14, 2018

Alam M, et al. - Researchers examined the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on the appearance, including texture and color, of photodamaged facial skin in this randomized clinical trial conducted within the setting of an academic-based, urban outpatient dermatology practice in Chicago, IL. Participants (aged 18-70 years with bilateral cheek rhytids of Glogau class II or greater) received 3-mL intradermal injections of PRP to one cheek and sterile normal saline to the contralateral cheek. According to findings, PRP is efficacious for facial rejuvenation, particularly for textural improvement of photoaged skin.
