Effect of pathological high-risk features on cancer-specific mortality in non-metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma: A tool for optimizing patient selection for adjuvant therapy
World Journal of Urology Oct 15, 2017
Bandini M, et al. - This research was initiated in order to inspect the ability of three high-risk (hR) features for the detection of patients at the highest risk of cancer-specific mortality (CSM), after partial or radical nephrectomy. The data unveiled the highest risk of CSM among patients with the combination of lymph node invasion (LNI) with FG3-4 or pT3a/b as well as patients with all three hR features. Such subjects were probably ideal candidates for adjuvant therapy, either in clinical practice or in prospective trials.
