Effect of multimodal analgesia with paravertebral blocks on biochemical recurrence in men undergoing open radical prostatectomy
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations Jun 14, 2018
Macleod LC, et al. - Authors ascertained the relationship between the use of a multimodal analgesic approach incorporating paravertebral blocks and risk of biochemical recurrence after open radical prostatectomy. They retrospectively compared patients who received general analgesia with opioid analgesia to those who received general analgesia with multimodal analgesia incorporating paravertebral blocks. Findings did not suggest an association of the use of a multimodal analgesic approach incorporating paravertebral blocks with a reduced risk of biochemical recurrence following radical prostatectomy.
