Kim B, et al. - An inspection was initiated with regard to the upshot of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor on disrupted E-cadherin after acid exposure, in the human nasal epithelium. It was noted that the altered expression of E-cadherin in the nasal epithelium by acid exposure could serve as a possible mechanism for nasal tissue injury in chronic nasal inflammation with laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD). MMP inhibition was disclosed to be a potential treatment.
