Effect of marital status on survival in glioblastoma multiforme by demographics, education, economic factors, and insurance status
Cancer Medicine Jul 27, 2018
Xie JC, et al. - The relationship between marital status and survival in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) was examined in this analysis. For this investigation, the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database was searched and data on eligible patients diagnosed with GBM after 2004 was extracted. Researchers classified marital status as married, divorced/separated, widowed, and single. Findings revealed that the advantageous impact of marriage on GBM survival was especially prominent in patients who are male, older than 60 years of age, white, or living in middle-income counties. It was concluded that marital status was an independent prognostic factor for GBM.
