Effect of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection at the end of vitrectomy for vitreous haemorrhage related to proliferative diabetic retinopathy
British Journal of Ophthalmology Jan 22, 2018
Takamura Y, et al. - Experts ascertained if the intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) plus vitrectomy prevented postoperative inflammation in patients with vitreous haemorrhage (VH) due to proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). As per the results, IVTA combined with vitrectomy and cataract surgery assisted in inhibiting the postoperative inflammation in patients with VH due to PDR. Data revealed that the effect of IVTA could be limited to the early stage after surgery, in the reduction of diabetic macular oedema.
