Effect of interleukin-1 antagonists on the quality of life in familial Mediterranean fever patients

Varan O, et al. - Authors gauged quality of life (QoL) changes of colchicine familial Mediterranean fever (crFMF) patients with IL-1 inhibitors. They prospectively monitored all patients for the frequency, duration, severity of attacks, patient global assessments (Visual Analog Scale; VAS), and laboratory features. Attacks are prevented and QoL of crFMF is improved with IL-1 antagonists. Post treatment short form-36 (SF-36) sub components showed significant improvement on physical function, role limitation due to emotional problem, energy, emotional well-being, social function, pain, general health, and health change compared to pre- and post-treatment, SF-36 sub-components.
