JAMA Mar 09, 2019
Ma J, et al. - In this randomized clinical trial involving 409 subjects with obesity and depression, researchers tested the premises an integrated collaborative care intervention would significantly improve both obesity and depression at 12 months vs usual care. The data presented in this work showed a collaborative care intervention involving behavioral weight loss treatment, problem-solving therapy, and antidepressant drugs as needed significantly improved weight loss and depressive symptoms at 12 months compared to usual care among adults with obesity and depression.
