Yessayan L, et al. - This study was implemented to investigate the link between hyperchloremia and acute kidney injury (AKI) within the first 72 h of intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Researchers reported that critically ill septic patients admitted to the ICU commonly developed hyperchloremia, however, occurrence of hyperchloremia did not appear to be associated with an increased risk for AKI within the first 72 h of admission.
