Effect of first cannulation time and dialysis machine blood flows on survival of arteriovenous fistulas
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Oct 19, 2017
Wilmink T, et al. - Researchers analyzed arteriovenous fistula (AVF) survival in relation to cannulation time. They found that there was no relation between first cannulation time (FCT) and AVF survival. Furthermore, the following factors were found to be associated with decreased AVF survival: failures to achieve six successful cannulations from the start of dialysis and higher machine blood flow rate (BFR) in the first week of dialysis.
