Effect of disease activity at three and six months after diagnosis on long-term outcomes in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis

Arthritis & Rheumatology Apr 03, 2019

Gopaluni S, et al. - Authors estimated the data to examine the relationship between early disease control with long-term consequences to confirm early disease control as an endpoint for future clinical trials in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV). They observed the development of end-stage renal failure (ESRF) in 46 cases while 66 died, and 89 had either died or developed ESRF. They noted age, estimated glomerular filtration rate, and disease status at 6 months as predictors of the composite endpoint of death or ESRF at 6 months. They reported comparable when these analyses were performed separately for death and for ESRF.
