Effect of colonoscopy vs FIT outreach on CRC screening completion

Singal AD, et al. — This randomized clinical trial conducted in a safety-net health system compared the effectiveness of mailed fecal immunochemical test outreach and mailed colonoscopy outreach to increase completion of the colorectal cancer screening process (screening and follow-up) within 3 years. Researchers found that both intervention groups had significantly higher rates of response than the usual care group, with the colonoscopy group having the highest rate of completion of the screening process.
