Effect of cinacalcet combined with calcitriol on the clinical outcome and bone metabolism in patients on hemodialysis with severe secondary hyperparathyroidism
Blood Purification Dec 12, 2017
Yuan F, et al. - This study was performed on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with severe secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), to determine the impact of cinacalcet combined with calcitriol on clinical outcome and bone metabolism in these subjects. Findings revealed that in this patient population, cinacalcet combined with low dose calcitriol could not only improve high calcium, high phosphorus, and high intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) but also improve bone metabolism. Data suggested that it can be used as a favorable choice for SHPT treatment.
