Thethi I, et al. - Malignant pleural effusion (MPE) develops in approximately 50% of all patients with metastatic cancer. The efficacy and safety of chest tube size in the management of MPE was assessed in this meta-analysis. It was shown that both small and large chest tubes were effective and afforded similar successful pleurodesis and complication proportion.
