Effect of characteristics of pharmacotherapy on non-adherence in chronic cardiovascular disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies
International Journal of Clinical Practice | Dec 04, 2017
Schneider APH, et al. - Researchers resolved to abridge the evidence with regard to the connection between characteristics of drug therapy (pharmacotherapy) and medication non-adherence in the cardiovascular diseases (CVD) cohort. As per the findings, access to insurance or another program that assisted with medication costs served as a protection factor for non-adherence. In contrast, a high frequency of dosing was found to be a risk factor for non-adherence. Hence, these characteristics of pharmacotherapy ought to be taken into account in order to improve medication adherence among CVD patients.
