Effect of biopsy site on detection of gastric cancer high-risk groups by OLGA and OLGIM stages

Kim YI, et al. - This study was performed to investigate the effect of biopsy site on detection of gastric cancer high-risk groups by the operative link for gastritis assessment (OLGA) and operative link on gastric intestinal metaplasia assessment (OLGIM) stages. The researchers concluded that it was necessary to include an angle biopsy to prevent underestimation of OLGA and OLGIM stages and to obtain corpus biopsy specimens from lesser and greater curvature sites rather than from anterior and posterior wall sites.
