Effect of apical patency on postoperative pain: A meta-analysis

Abdulrab S, et al. - In adult patients, authors evaluated the available evidence regarding the impact of apical patency vs nonpatency on postendodontic pain. Considering the limitations of this study, authors concluded that there was no association between maintaining apical patency during routine endodontic treatment and an increased incidence of postoperative pain in adult patients. With regard to analgesic consumption, no statistically significant difference was found.
