Effect of adipose tissue volume on prognosis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer
Clinical Imaging May 12, 2018
Lee JW, et al. - In patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the relationship between adipose tissue volume and survival was evaluated. For this study, one hundred seventy-one NSCLC patients who underwent staging 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and subsequent curative surgical resection or definite chemoradiotherapy were retrospectively included. Results of this study suggested that in patients with NSCLC, subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) volume had a significant favorable effect on progression-free survival (PFS).
