Effect of addition of an intimate partner violence intervention to a nurse home visitation program on maternal quality of life: A randomized clinical trial
JAMA Apr 26, 2019
Jack SM, et al. - In this cluster randomized clinical trial involving 492 pregnant women, researchers determined the impact on maternal quality of life of a nurse home visitation program augmented by an intimate partner violence (IPV) [a public health issue with significant adverse effects on women and children] intervention, compared with the nurse home visitation program alone. Augmentation of a nurse home visitation program with a comprehensive IPV intervention vs the home visitation program alone, 24 months after delivery, did not significantly improve the quality of life among pregnant women experiencing social and economic disadvantage and preparing for the parent for the first time. The use of this intervention does not support these findings.
