Blanchet–Rethore S, et al. – An inspection was carried out of the effect of a cosmetic lotion containing heat–treated Lactobacillus johnsonii NCC 533 (HT La1) on S. aureus colonization, in atopic dermatitis (AD) patients. Its application for 3 weeks controlled S. aureus colonization and correlated with local clinical improvement (SCORAD). The additional development of topical treatments containing heat–treated nonreplicating beneficial bacteria was herein supported, for patients with AD.
