Effect of a hybrid closed-loop system on glycemic and psychosocial outcomes in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes: A randomized clinical trial
JAMA Oct 15, 2021
Abraham MB, de Bock M, Smith GJ, et al. - Among children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes, implementation of the hybrid closed-loop (HCL) system appeared to be linked with improved glycemic control and quality of life when compared with conventional diabetes management.
A 6-month, multicenter, randomized clinical trial performed including 172 children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes.
With HCL vs standard therapy, mean percent time in target glucose range was 62.5% vs 56.1%, respectively, with a mean adjusted difference of 6.7%.
HCL therapy was linked with higher diabetes-specific quality of life when compared with standard therapy.
