Education mitigates the effect of poverty on total knee arthroplasty outcomes

Goodman SM, et al. - In a population comprising TKA patients, researchers examined the interaction between education and poverty on 2-year WOMAC pain and function. Findings reported that 2-year WOMAC scores were 10 points worse among those without college vs those with some college among patients belonging to poor communities. Notably, in wealthy communities, TKA outcomes were not affected by education.
