ECU tendon subluxation: A nonspecific MRI finding occurring in all wrist positions irrespective of ulnar-sided symptoms?
European Journal of Radiology May 17, 2019
Luijkx T, et al. - For the assessment of the relationship between extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) subluxation and wrist positioning on MRI, and their independent relation with ulnar-sided symptoms, investigators retrospectively studied 161 wrist MRI scans of 141 patients from 4 hospitals and ruled out wrist position (defined by radio-ulnar angle), degree of ECU subluxation and presence of ulnar side symptoms. No association was found between ECU subluxations and ulnar-sided symptoms and ECU subluxation was evident in all wrist positions, independent of ulnar-sided symptoms.
