Echocardiographic pulmonary hypertension predicts post-transplantation renal allograft failure

Foderaro AE, et al. – Pulmonary hypertension in the setting of renal transplantation has been associated with early allograft dysfunction and increased mortality, authors here aimed at studying this relationship extensively. Based on the findings, pulmonary hypertension before renal transplantation seemed to carry a 3–fold increased risk of death–censored allograft failure. Further study regarding the relationship between the pulmonary circulation and renal allograft failure was recommended.
