Human Reproduction Jan 21, 2021
Elenis E, Desroziers E, Persson S, et al. - Researchers conducted a population-based study utilizing five linked Swedish national registries with the aim to determine if anti-androgen treatment during adolescence is linked with an improved probability of spontaneous conception resulting in childbirth in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Inclusion was performed of a total of 15,106 women with PCOS and 73,786 control women. The Swedish Prescribed Drug Registry was queried for retrieving information on anti-androgenic treatment. Analysis revealed an increased probability of childbirth after spontaneous conception among women with PCOS in correlation with early initiation of anti-androgen treatment (≤ 18 years of age) .
