Early comparative outcomes of unicompartmental and total knee arthroplasty in severely obese patients
The Knee Jan 12, 2018
Lum ZC, et al. - This study entailed comparison of outcomes and complications following medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) vs total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in severely obese patients. Along with equal survivorship, substantially fewer reoperations, reduced deep infection, and less perioperative complications were noted at short-term follow-up in patients who underwent medial UKA. Following UKA vs TKA, improved Knee Society functional scores and maintenance of ROM was noted in severely obese patients.
