Dynamic coupling between fMRI local connectivity and interictal EEG in focal epilepsy: A wavelet analysis approach
Human Brain Mapping Aug 12, 2017
Omidvarnia A, et al. – This research was designed to identify direct connections between scalp–recorded EEG and regional changes of hemodynamic brain connectivity in focal epilepsy through a time–frequency paradigm. The authors proposed that there was a strong time–varying correlation between local fMRI connectivity and interictal EEG power in focal epilepsy and that dynamic regional phase synchrony (DRePS)–band amplitude fluctuation (BAF) reflected different aspects of epileptic network activity than standard EEG–fMRI analysis. Therefore, these 2 techniques appeared to be complementary
